Scott Montgomery asked that Front Row Reviewers Utah interview him in preparation for his upcoming A Tale of Two Cities at The CenterPoint Legacy Theatre. Montgomery was the director.
My husband and I had the privilege of spending about an hour with Scott. A finer man I’ve never met, and then seeing his amazing production…. In the lobby afterward, mopping my eyes, I saw Scott and asked, “May I give you a hug?” He embraced me. That was the last time I would ever see this talented, truly kind and wonderful man.
Many of my friends in the theater community were privileged to spend far more time with Scott than I was able to do. He passed away earlier this week. My heart is breaking for his family. I know what it is like to lose a child. I pray his family feels comfort, though I know there is little to be had at this time.
So many of my theater friends have posted about Scott on social networks. They knew him better than I did, and we have all lost an amazing member of the Utah theater community.
I am posting this video I made of Scott in case any of you missed it. I share in your loss, those of you who knew and loved Scott Montgomery.
Hug your loved ones, friends. Life is short.
